Veterinary Ultrasound Tucson: The Benefits of Ultrasonography
Our Tucson vet clinics are constantly investing in state of the art technology to better serve our clients and patients. One of the investments that we’ve made is in ultrasound. Not all Tucson veterinary practices offer ultrasound services so we’re proud to be one that does.
Ultrasonography is a diagnostic tool that uses sound waves to generate detailed images of your pet’s internal organs. Ultrasound is a completely non-invasive, painless way to diagnose and evaluate many common diseases.
At Northwest Pet Clinic, our veterinary practices offer ultrasound in the Tucson area. Our veterinarians regularly perform Focused Assessment with Sonography for Trauma, Triage, or Treatment (F.A.S.T) ultrasound exams. A F.A.S.T. exam is a targeted exam to help answer specific clinical questions or to confirm the findings on physical exam and radiographs.
Ultrasound is also used to guide our doctors in procedures where they use a needed to collect free fluid, urine, and sometimes even samples of an internal organ or mass.
Ultrasound is an advanced diagnostic tool that requires skills and experience. Our Tucson vet doctors continue to practice, hone their skills, and obtain specialized training in ultrasound. For more complicated cases, we have the ability to refer and consult with board-certified specialists.
