Show off your hard work and enjoy the satisfaction of earning a handsome certificate! When you pass the American Kennel Club's Canine Good Citizen test, it reflects the commitment you've made to make your dog a happy, healthy and very well-mannered citizen.
Once your dog has had the basics, it's time for the AKC Canine Good Citizen class. We break down the steps and practice the skills you will need to take the test for your certificate. Tests are set up to be taken three dogs at a time, and are a $15 fee. It’s completely up to you if you want to participate in the test, or just learn what is necessary to polish off your training!
-We cover all 10 portions of the CGC evaluation, tips and tricks to get you through it confident with head held high.
-You’re dog being handled by strangers, grooming etiquette and vet visit etiquette.
-Reacting calmly to strangers, other dogs, and loud noises.
-Being able to perform all taught commands without treats and without tools!
If you ever had goals of service work, therapy dog work, or have a “high risk” breed CGC is an excellent way to get started!
The skills you learn to take the test will help you test for therapy dog programs, such as Deltatm Therapy Dog.
