We are very proud and excited to announce that Northwest Pet Clinic is expanding its services to include Tucson dog training and behavior management. Angel Holewa has been in the field of behavior and dog training Tucson for 5 years, and brings with her a wide range of fun and modern techniques for training and behavior problem solving. Through the Positive Paws Center we will offer a variety of classes and private sessions to meet the behavior needs of your pet and your family.

We would like to welcome Angel Holewa as Northwest Pet Clinic's newest professional pet trainer!
Angel has trained professionally since 2008 with Petsmart’s accredited pet training program.
Angel is a Tucson native, and has spent her life developing canine handling skills from fostering, dog grooming, and AKC shows at a young age.
As a lead trainer, Angel has come across a diverse spectrum of dog breeds and behaviors. In addition to conducting successful puppy classes, she has also taught adult dog beginner courses, and even expanded to advance skill building classes and fun trick teaching!
Angel has helped pet owners resolve adjusting issues ranging from anxiety and aggression, to behavior problems resulting from trauma or human-dog miscommunications.
Believing exclusively in positive reinforcement techniques, Angel has been a trusted trainer for a large group of southwestern pet owners.
Angel has partnered with her clients and their pets to reach goals such as passing service dog requirements through Delta (www.deltasociety.org), or obedience certifications such as AKC's Canine Good Citizen (www.akc.org.). She has also given pets and owners guidance through fun activities such as agility and herding.
Most of all Angel has focused on preserving the wonderful bond between family and pet!
Angel’s primary objective is to serve as a trusted source of knowledge regarding training and behavioral health at Northwest Pet Clinic. Angel holds a strong belief in positive, reward based training methods that have been developed from proven behavior science. She is excited to share her knowledge and skills with pet owners to help enhance their bond with their furry family members.

At Positive Paws we structure our classes into 6 week blocks to teach basic obedience commands important to proper at home control. Also we cover behavior curbing in every one of our group classes, even the upper levels, to keep our dogs at their very best. Browse through our selection of classes to see which one fits you and your dog best. The schedule is updated monthly and is set up for three months in advance to give you an open timeline of when you will be ready to dedicate time to your dog.
We will also be doing individual sessions to help resolve problem behaviors. The goal for individual sessions is to help dogs develop methods to feel calm in everyday situations that have previously been stressful, which results in a reduction of inappropriate behaviors. Using classical conditioning and desensitizing we can battle serious issues in a dogs social behavior. At home training is also available from North West Pet Clinic!
Each puppy or adult dog class builds on skills previously learned to create an "error-less learning" environment for both puppy AND their people. Once the dogs have progressed through their classes or their individual sessions, they will have several choices of fun activities to participate in, such as A.K.C. Canine Good Citizen certification, hospital visits/therapy and dog sports.
All of our classes, including private sessions, develop skills by teaching both pooches and people, in a respectful, pro-active & positive atmosphere. We advocate and employ dog-friendly techniques based on the science of learning - operant and classical conditioning. We cultivate clear communication between dogs and their people, with learning materials, ample opportunity to practice, and ability to contact us for assistance between classes if you need it.
